Winter came back with a slap in the face yesterday here in Wisconsin to remind us that snow belongs around here whenever Mother Nature decides. We are currently digging out from 7.1 inches of the heavy, wet, white stuff today before the rain arrives tomorrow. Nothing we like more than ice after the snow around here. Thankfully my usually not so helpful neighbor has someone here with a snow blower helping out with the driveway so the kids do not have to do all of the hard work. I hate that with my back I cannot be out there helping...I actually used to be the one who did the majority of the shoveling in this family.
Boys did have a good time at the YMCA lock-in, and yeah Zak earned his Swimming Merit Badge. So now both boys are very close to another rank advancement and then the only place for them to go is Eagle Scout. Whether they become Eagles is totally up to them though.
Health wise the boys are still coughing something fierce, so unless they are better by the end of the week we are off to visit the doctor. Micheyla seems to have kicked it fast and is better, and Papa Bear is the silent type until he is totally miserable so for now he must be doing well enough. Once he is sick, as much as I love him, he is the world's biggest baby. I seem to have missed the bug (knock on wood) and hope things stay that way. Back is still causing me grief, especially at work so I need to talk to the pain doctor next week and see if there is something that they can give me for when I have an acute attack of pain. The gabapentin is more a preventative and it is helping immensely, but nothing cuts the intense hurt when I am at work.
Did not do so well with the goals Friday and over the weekend. Seemed we were always running, though we did have a nice relaxing Saturday night. Rented 2 movies and watched them.
First was W and it was interesting, I must say that Josh Brolin did a brilliant job of portraying the character, the story was a little flat at times though.
Next we rented Max Payne, which was nothing like I expected but good nonetheless, nice amount of action and Mila Kunis from That 70s Show really surprised me with her role in the movie.
Surprising twist there last week on the wild card show of American Idol, now we have a top 13, not 12. Of course, I will be rooting for Danny G from WI, but I am sure as the season progresses I will find other favorites and the usual ones I cannot stand.
Today's goal:
Write 2 letters to pen pals, some cleaning in the living room, and start reading a book for a review. Also have some Scout stuff to do for tonight's meeting.
So, have yourselves a great Monday, or try your best.

I'm sure your sons will make fine Eagle Scouts should they choose to go that route!
We had beautiful weather this past weekend and today - snow! Big, huge, fat flakes of snow that accumulated way too quickly. Nothing for nothing but I have had enough!
Good luck with your back; I just called my orthopedic doc and made an appointment to go in and see him on Friday. My back has been going out on me way too often lately so perhaps it's time for a reevaluation and see what's up. I just hope he doesn't send me for another MRI but they really can't tell what's up unless they can get a good look, can they?
