The Mommy wardrobe...

You know you are a mom when you have a multifaceted wardrobe, and I am not talking about having clothing for every season or occasion.
I am talking the reality of your wardrobe being categorized more simply...
1. Special Occasion Only
2. Fit for Public Viewing
3. Never Wear it Out of the House

Yes, this is my wardrobe and it is so stylish. I know I need more clothes when I have very little available in category 2, which is my current situation, but of course, being mom...I will sacrifice any major clothing purchases until after the holidays. Other than another pair of pants suitable for work, which I need, I will survive with what I have on hand, and stay home more or wear my coat all of the time.

Tell me I am not the only mom in this predicament. I need a wardrobe makeover something major.

Nope, you're not the only one. Hang in there; I'm finally no longer wearing clothes from high school. Good thing; those shoulder pads couldn't take much more. And the leg warmers? Full of holes!

Whew! and I thought it was just me!

You are NOT alone! I had to go buy new clothes when I started my job because fit to be seen in, does NOT equal work appropriate.
But you know those darn kids keep growing and all the clothes budget ends up going to them. Such is the life of a mom!

Same here and most of it is the "Never Wear it Out of the House" kind.

Even when I do go shopping I can't find anything I like or it's too expensive, so I come back to my old sad faithfuls that are getting less and less suitable for wearing anywhere at all!

I may not be a Mom, so my wardrobe is slightly better... but I do NOT go shopping. The vast majority of my clothes (80%) were hand-me-downs (yes, I'm 27 and still except hand-me-downs). 5% of them were gifts. Another 5% are clothes I've had longer than 10 years.... and 10 years ago I was in high school :0 The last 10% are clothes I bought on sale mostly from Target.

I say it's not the clothes but how you wear them :)

You are definitely NOT alone in the world. I'm just totally thankful that I wear a uniform to work and don't have to worry about finding some decent to wear!

Methinks many of us could categorize our wardrobe as you have. I got rid of all my ‘work’ clothes when I retired … so if I had to return to work, I’d have nothing to wear and would have to ‘invest’ in some basic pieces to put outfits together … seriously.
Hugs and blessings,
