Embracing Simplicity

Life is too full of drama, have you ever noticed that?
Some people cannot make it through the day without the sky falling and chaos being the word of the day.
I on the other hand prefer to embrace simplicity and enjoy life it the easiest form possible. I do not search for the soap opera of life, and do my best to veer off course from it when it tries to head my way.
Life is enjoying the wonders of nature and togetherness, like going fishing with your husband and children for an afternoon. Gathering together too watch a movie, and finding you all enjoyed it. (Nim's Island, a Bartotto Bunch recommendation).
Why make like complicated? Why seek that out, you don't feel better for it.

Sometimes you will not be able to avoid the drama, that's the way the world works but if you don't have to deal with it, don't let it invade your day.

My simple advice for this Monday morning...
Embrace simplicity!

You know, embracing simplicity is easier said than done, but I am trying! Great post for a Monday morning! :-P

I'm so with you on this one. I know a woman that is so full of drama that it makes me crazy. I avoid her as much as possible. Yikes. Have a great day sweetie. Big hug and lotsa lovies. :)

I love that philosophy. I think sometimes we make things more complicated than we need to. Take making a grocery list, for example. Should that have taken me four and a half hours? No, it shouldn't have, and now I'm wishing I had spent that time better.

Avoid the drama. That's kind of hard to do with a toddler in the house, but I like the idea.

Ugh! I hate drama!!! So, how many blogs do you actually have?

I think you wrote that so nicely, and I love the way you say embrace simplicity! I try to do that everyday, but of course you do run into people who always seem to make things difficult, it seems like there are people who actually love drama, and i try very hard to not deal with them. But I think that was a lovely post. Have a wonderful Monday!

I love this title ... your post today ... and the 'wish' for us all at the end. It's the kind of thing I try to do each day ... and that I try to pass along to others ... especially at Sacred Ruminations. I wish for you the same ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

This is such a great post. I've been going through a 'simplicity' lesson in life over the last year or so. It is amazing how much more freeing it is to let go of the 'drama' and to be more simple in life. We've simplified our house, our closets, our pantry, our fridge ... basically everything in our lives lately. We appreciate having family over for a home cooked meal and card games. I just want to go back to the simple life. :)

I have completely embraced simplicity this week. I can't remember anything more complicated anyway.

Amen to that. I keep it very simple myself, because it can get really complicated with five kids.

My life is way too full of drama. I try to avoid it at all costs! :)

The problem is that some people would rather embrace drama. About 90% of them are in my family. And doesn't that make life fun?? :-)

Oh, I couldn't agree more! One of my SisterDears has a very dramatic life and I honestly don't know how she makes it through a single day.

Funny, I was just thinking about this same concept yesterday. And I reached pretty much the same conclusion: if you don't play up the drama, it's easier to smile.
