Thirteen Facts about Penelope: The "C" Edition

1.... Collector
My first collections were teddy bears and ceramic masks. I still collect bears, though now more ceramic and realistic, especially polar bears. I also collect snowmen, fabric, stationary, fairies, and dust bunnies. For my children I collect postage stamps, unique bottles, and souvenir spoons.

2.... Cheyla
My baby girl's nickname, shortened from her name Micheyla. Mind you my baby will be 12 very, very soon... is almost as tall as me, and steals all of my shoes.

3.... Cook
I love to cook. I taught myself how to cook out of necessity so that my sister and I did not live off Betty Crocker and Swanson meals only. Now I love to play in the kitchen, often concocting recipes.

4.... Crockpot
A necessary item in my kitchen, as I love to cook in them. I have 6 currently in a variety of sizes. I love to swap crockpot recipes.

5.... Coffee
I am a java nut, need my caffeine and I like to start the day with a pot of coffee. I used to be seriously addicted to cappuccino, but I did give those up, except for special treats.

6.... Catholic
I am a seriously lapsed, okay clearly former Catholic. I would say my Catholic background essentially ended when I stopped being a Catholic schoolgirl in 2nd grade. I continue to fear nuns to this day from that glorious experience, I am horribly intimidated by them to this day. I married into the United Methodist Faith, and now simply chose to be called a believer. funny note, I was originally baptized Lutheran, and rebaptized by my mother at 16 months into the Catholic faith.

7.... Cats
The musical was the first stage Broadway style stage performance I ever saw. We went to Chicago when I was 13 and saw it there, and it was one of the most magical experiences in my life, and led to my love of the stage. I went on to be in drama during high school, even lettering in Forensics.

8.... Camping
Being a Scout family it is clear that camping is a big part of our lives, but I actually enjoy camping, and in a tent. I started camping when I was very little, and took Nick, our oldest camping when he was 1 month old.

9.... Cello
One of the instruments I played in the orchestra during middle school. The one I enjoyed the most. Would love to be able to buy one and reteach myself to play again.

10.... Cabbage
My grandmother lived next to a sauerkraut factory, and the greatest smell in the world was the harvesting of all the cabbage fields, I love the crisp smell of fresh cabbage. Worst smell... fermenting cabbage, which we got to know well at grandma's house. I make a great stuffed cabbage casserole in the crockpot, yummy.

11.... Claustrophobic
I am seriously claustrophobic, I even need to be sedated to have an OPEN MRI. I trip on an elevator is a challenge for me, but I do it.

12.... Chicago
Where my one and only sibling, a younger sister, lives.

13.... Crochet
One of the many crafts I enjoy. In general I like all forms of crafting.

Nice TT post today. BTW, I also had a crush on Judd Nelson - bad boy!

Penelope, I was brought up Catholic, and I crochet and love the smell of Cabbage cooking - could we be sisters? Ha! :)

I, too, am a lapsed Catholic. Now - a believer. Which only means I get to be a Dirty Old Man and not have pangs of conscience about it. And I, too, have Chicago connections. but I cannot crochet for love nor money.

OMGoodness - I think we're twins! I am with you on almost every one of these!! *jumping for joy*

Now, come back and take the awards that were on my post. After 3 hours of editing my HTML code last night (to save my blog), I was too tired to remember to put that in there. I added a comment to inform all and updated the post.

Great 13! I also love cooking as of this past year, ditto on the crockpot and coffee, oh, and camping. And I'm from Chicago. We are practically related. ;)
