Brought to you by the Wonderful Skittles
This week's theme is... Mothers
My favorite part about being a mother is ...
Unconditional love. It started from their births and even though some days I question if it still could possibly exist as we travel these rough waters called the “teenage years” I know deep within their souls my three children love me.
They do not care that I am not the most beautiful woman in the world ... in their eyes I am the epitome of beauty and grace. Even when I am falling down at a roller rink during a Girl Scout event and getting a concussion within the first ten minutes of the field trip, I am graceful. When I am covered in mud and soaked to the skin on Boy Scout Camporee I am still beautiful.
No gift ever given could be so grand as the gift of motherhood. Cherish it I do with every fiber of my being, every millisecond of our lives. Never do I regret the choices I made to become a mother.
Ode to Precious Gifts
Motherhood...
A gift greatly desired
Laced with expectation.
Motherhood...
Time of fear, time of joy
Built upon anticipation.
Special delivery
Your bundle has arrived.
No instructions included!
Motherhood...
Sleepless nights, zombie days
Overflowing with frustration.
Motherhood...
First steps, off and running
Days burdened with trepidation.
School Years
Learning much, some not wished
Dreams some what deluded.
Motherhood...
Growing fast, puberty hits
Driven by irritation.
Motherhood...
Who is this child?
Heart beating with realization.
I'm an adult now mom,
Words so hard to hear
Changes eluded and exuded.
Motherhood...
Never over, just different
Filled with joyous exclamation.
Motherhood...
A gift generously given
A path walked with joyous proclamation!.

Like the angle you've taken with the theme. I'm really lucky too as my son loves me unconditionally too despite his teenage years and my unreasonable ways.
Beautiful, honey. I love it!
It's a goodly entry... and one that makes me glad that, despite being far away from each other, I'll be seeing my mum shortly!
You are absolutely right about the unconditional love. Great poem.
Wonderful post and great poem!
It is indeed, unconditional love.
Great post.
