This week's Theme: FOOL

Day after day alone on the hill
The man with the foolish grin
is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him
They can see that he's just a fool
And he never gives an answer

But the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the world spinning round

Well on the way, his head in a cloud
The man of a thousand voices
is talking perfectly loud
But nobody ever hears him
Or the sound he appears to make
And he never seems to notice

But the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the world spinning round

Oh, round, round, round, round, round
And nobody seems to like him
they can tell what he wants to do
And he never shows his feelings

But the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the world spinning round
~ Lennon/McCartney

Some days I feel the fool, the crazy lady on the hill that no one wants to notice and no one wants to listen to. The crazy mama on a tirade, pulling out her hair and wishing the world would fade away if but for a moment so I can breathe.
The greatest challenges of homeschooling have started to develop now as we have entered the High school years. I struggle to feel confident that I am indeed going to give my children the right amount of education to succeed in the real world. I am very good at second guessing myself, and when I am in doubt I think the children see me and think I might be a fool.

Yet, they love another fool within me...the foolish mama that cracks crazy jokes, plays silly games, and talks in crazy accents just to lighten the mood.

So I am both worried to be the fool, and a little proud to be the fool...

Great song choice!

Home schooling teens is something almost unimaginable to me. It sounds like you're on the right track though with being able to lighten the mood. :)

Can I steal the badge for the HoT page???? :)

Parenting teens is rough no matter how you look at it ~

very cool song ... I feel the 'beat 'of it too.
I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to move to Australia LOL nor homeschooling my teen - he hates me teaching him anything and I don't have the patience to deal with his attitude that learning sucks.

We started high school this year, too. It's interesting how people on the outside assume that we would put our son in public high school. It's gone pretty good this year. But I think that I may switch to the Alpha Omega program next year, because I sometimes doubt what we're doing and that it will prepare him well enough. Or, we may do dual enrollment at a college - for both high school and college credit. Our oldest is going through high school at home first; he is our guinea pig.

Great post...and we can be our own worst enemies, can't we? I'm the same way.
