This week's prompt is a quote suggested by paisley:
"When you were called upon to speak, you were supposed to say why you think you're alive, why you were born, and why you're still around: What are your reasons? Everyone needs to come up with his or her own personal answer." ~ From a novel called Diary of a Heretic, by Kathleen Maher.
My life is but a moment in the span that is the universe
A blink of an eye
Two people brought together by mistake
Find love, some hanky panky
a little road trip
and then they killed the rabbit
Silly rabbit sex is for grown ups
So, my little self started to grow within the womb
Obsessive compulsive woman
Bottle drowned man
Hitchhiked across America to get away from Vietnam
Almost hung with a dude named Charlie
and Sunshine could have been the name
of the little bundle that finally came
That is why there is a me,
How I, simply put, came to be
The harder question still remains...
Why is it that the me is still here?
Will the answer ever be revealed?
Maybe yes, maybe no...
Do I really want to know?

Superb...esp. the question toward the end.
Yes, I guess that's always the question under the question.
Great poem. Thanks.
Great rhythm to this. Some cool lines too.
A fun poem to read with an underlying message. Do you really want to know?
This just fascinated me. I agree, great rhythm.
It is, a blink of an eye...the last question is probably going unanswered. Nice post!
